Adi Lakshmi Homa

Also spelled Adi Lakshmi Homam

आदिलक्ष्मी होम

The first Lakshmi, the root of all abundance, called into the fire for a household that earns steadily and sleeps without worry.

  • Performed for you alone — never a group ceremony
  • Muhurta fixed from your own birth chart, confirmed within 24–48 working hours
  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

The Adi Lakshmi Homa is offered to the first of the eight Lakshmis — the primordial form from which every other kind of wealth is said to branch. Grain, gold, courage, progeny, victory: the tradition holds that each of these flows from Adi Lakshmi, the original source. So this homa is not aimed at a single windfall. It is aimed at the root, at the ground beneath your earning.

Fire is the oldest post office in the Vedic world. Ghee, lotus, grain and herbs are offered into a consecrated agni kunda while the Adi Lakshmi mantras are chanted with sankalpa taken in your name, your nakshatra and your gotra. Households turn to the Adi Lakshmi homam when income arrives in fits and starts, when debt has begun to shape every decision, or when a new venture needs its foundation blessed before the first brick is laid.

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं आदिलक्ष्म्यै नमः Salutations to Adi Lakshmi, the primordial mother of abundance — may she abide in this home and sustain it.

Why Devotees Book This

What the tradition prescribes the Adi Lakshmi Homa for, in the words of those who keep the rite:

Steady, unbroken income

Offered when earnings arrive irregularly, so that the flow becomes even rather than sudden and scarce by turns.

Relief from the weight of debt

Traditionally taken up by families working their way out of borrowings, to lighten the burden and clear the path to repayment.

A settled household economy

Invoked for the quieter kind of wealth — bills met on time, savings that stay, a home that does not run on anxiety.

Blessing at the start of a venture

Performed before a new business, shop, partnership or investment, so the foundation is laid with Lakshmi's grace.

Removal of obstruction in money matters

Prescribed where dues are stuck, payments delayed, or property and settlement matters refuse to move.

A right relationship with wealth

The rite asks not only for prosperity but for the discipline to hold it — Lakshmi is said to stay where she is honoured.

Friday

The day of Shukra and of Lakshmi. Fridays, especially in the bright fortnight, are the most commonly chosen day for the Adi Lakshmi homam.

Varalakshmi Vratam and Deepavali

The great Lakshmi occasions of the year. Households booking for the coming year's prosperity often choose these dates.

Akshaya Tritiya and Sukla Paksha Ashtami

Days associated with wealth that does not diminish, favoured for homas begun on behalf of a family or a new enterprise.

Rohini, Uttara Phalguni and Shravana nakshatras

Nakshatras traditionally held to be steady and nourishing, suited to rites that ask for stability rather than sudden gain.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Adi Lakshmi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Adi Lakshmi Homa is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Adi Lakshmi, the first and primordial form of Sri Lakshmi among the Ashta Lakshmis. From her, tradition says, the seven other Lakshmis — of grain, courage, victory, progeny, gold, wisdom and elephants — take their rise. Because she is the source rather than one branch, the homa is performed for prosperity at its root: the capacity of a household to earn, hold and grow wealth over time. Offerings of ghee, lotus, grain and herbs are made into the consecrated fire while her mantras are chanted with sankalpa in the devotee's name.
The tradition prescribes this homa for steadiness of income, relief from the pressure of debt, and stability in the household economy. It is also taken up before starting a business or making a significant investment, and where money matters have stalled — dues unpaid, settlements delayed, transactions stuck. Devotees describe a sense of order returning to their finances. AstroBhava makes no guarantee of any specific financial result; the homa is an offering, performed with care and correct procedure on your behalf.
Anyone seeking financial stability may have it performed — salaried people whose earnings feel precarious, business owners, families carrying loans, and those beginning a new venture. It is often booked in the name of the head of a household on behalf of the whole family, and is a common choice when a weak or afflicted Shukra or a difficult second or eleventh house has been indicated in a chart. You do not perform it yourself. Qualified priests perform it at our Yagna Ashram in your name, and you watch the live telecast from wherever you are.
Friday is the classical day, being sacred to Shukra and to Lakshmi, and Fridays in the Shukla Paksha are especially favoured. Varalakshmi Vratam, Deepavali and Akshaya Tritiya are the great annual occasions. Rohini, Uttara Phalguni and Shravana nakshatras are considered steady and nourishing, well suited to a rite that asks for stability. Our panchang scholars examine your birth details and fix the muhurat, then confirm the date with you before the homa is performed.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachanam to purify the space, then take sankalpa in your name, nakshatra and gotra. A kalasha is established and Adi Lakshmi invoked into it, followed by shodashopachara puja. The agni kunda is kindled and the Adi Lakshmi mantras are offered with ghee, lotus flowers, bilva and durva, rice, jaggery, honey, navadhanya, samidha of palasha and prescribed herbs. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana and prayers offered in your name. Prasadam and an energised yantra are then couriered to you.
Book online from any country. Choose the Adi Lakshmi Homa, share the name, nakshatra and gotra of everyone the sankalpa should cover, and our team will fix an auspicious date and confirm it with you. On the day, you receive a link to watch the homa live from our Yagna Ashram in Coimbatore. Afterwards, prasadam and the energised yantra are couriered to your address anywhere in the world, at no additional shipping cost.
