  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

Some obstacles announce themselves. Others simply sit there — the file that never moves, the alliance that never closes, the year that passes with effort but no ground gained. The Ruru Bhairava Homa is addressed to exactly this kind of blockage. Ruru is one of the eight Bhairavas, the fierce guardian forms of Shiva, and tradition places him at the threshold: he is called upon where a road has been shut and needs opening.

In the Ruru Bhairava homam, the priest builds the fire, seats the deity in it through mantra, and offers each oblation with your name, gotra and nakshatra spoken aloud. The rite is not a request for luck. It is the tradition's way of naming an obstruction, placing it in the fire, and asking the guardian of thresholds to stand at yours. Our priests perform it at the AstroBhava Yagna Ashram on your behalf, and you watch it live from wherever you are.

ॐ ह्रीं रुरु भैरवाय नमः Salutations to Ruru Bhairava — may the fierce guardian open the way that has been closed.

Why Devotees Book This

Devotees turn to the Ruru Bhairava Homa when effort is not the problem and movement still will not come. Here is what the tradition prescribes it for.

Stalled work

Offered when a project, case or application has stopped moving for reasons no one can point to.

Repeated delay

Traditionally invoked where the same plan is postponed again and again — the pattern itself is placed in the fire.

Blocked thresholds

Ruru Bhairava is the guardian of doorways. The rite is done before a move, a new venture, or an interview that matters.

Opposition and interference

Prescribed when human resistance, rivalry or ill will is felt to be holding a matter back.

Fear and hesitation

The fierce forms of Shiva are invoked for courage — to steady the mind that has grown tired of trying.

Protection of what moves again

Offered so that progress once resumed is guarded, and the same door does not close a second time.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Ruru Bhairava Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Ruru Bhairava — the goddess of knowledge itself

Ruru Bhairava is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Ruru Bhairava Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Ruru Bhairava Homa is a Vedic fire ritual addressed to Ruru Bhairava, one of the eight fierce guardian forms of Shiva. Its significance lies in his role as keeper of thresholds — the rite is prescribed where a path has closed and needs to open. Ghee, herbs and specific offerings are made into the consecrated fire while his mantra is chanted, with the obstruction named on the devotee's behalf.
Tradition prescribes the Ruru Bhairava homam for clearing obstacles, breaking cycles of delay, opening stalled work and matters, easing resistance from opposing parties, and steadying courage in a person worn down by repeated setbacks. It is a rite of clearing the road; the tradition asks you to keep walking it.
It is performed for anyone whose progress has stalled — a venture that will not launch, a legal or official matter that will not close, a career that has plateaued, a marriage proposal that keeps slipping. Families also sponsor it before beginning something new. Astrologers commonly suggest it when transits or periods indicate obstruction in the chart. The homa itself must be conducted by qualified priests; you sponsor it and receive its prasadam.
Ashtami tithi, particularly in the waning fortnight, is the classical choice, along with Tuesdays and Sundays. Kalabhairava Ashtami is the strongest annual window. Nakshatras such as Ardra, Bharani and Swati are also used. Our panchanga team selects the muhurat against your birth details and tells you the date and hour in advance.
The priest begins with achamana, sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra, and Ganapati puja. Kalasha and navagraha invocations follow. Agni is kindled in the kunda and consecrated, then Ruru Bhairava is invoked and seated in the flame. The main offerings are made with his mantra — ghee, samit wood, black sesame, mustard, dhoop and prescribed herbs — followed by purnahuti, aarti and prayer for the sponsor. All samagri is arranged by us at the Yagna Ashram.
