The Ritual and Its Weight

The Lakshmi Ganapathi Homa is a Vedic fire offering made to Ganapathi in the form where Lakshmi is seated with him — the remover of obstacles and the giver of abundance in one seat. In business the two are inseparable. A venture stalls either because the road is blocked or because the flow has thinned. This homa addresses both in a single fire: the obstruction is offered first, then the prayer for increase is placed on the same flame.

Merchants and householders have kept this form for generations, invoking it before opening a shop, signing a partnership, launching a new line, or entering a season on which the year depends. Ghee, modaka, lotus and grain go into the kunda while the priests chant. What you are doing is old and simple — announcing your work before the fire, asking that the way be cleared and the wealth be steady, and letting the smoke carry the request. Your sankalpa is taken in your name and gotra, whether you are in Chennai, Sydney or New Jersey.

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं ग्लौं गं गणपतये वर वरद सर्वजनं मे वशमानय स्वाहा With the seed-sounds of prosperity and grace, I invoke Ganapathi the giver of boons — may all people be favourable to me, and this offering be received.

Why Devotees Book This

Tradition prescribes the Lakshmi Ganapathi Homa at the turning points of a working life. These are the intentions devotees most often place before the fire.

Before a new venture

Offered when a business, shop or practice is about to open, so the first step is taken with Ganapathi's sanction.

For growth in an existing trade

Sought by those whose work is steady but not expanding, praying for wider reach and a fuller order book.

When deals stall

Invoked where negotiations drag, approvals sit unsigned, or a contract keeps slipping — the classic prayer for obstacles to move.

For new opportunities

Performed by those seeking fresh clients, partnerships, tenders or markets, asking that the right doors be opened.

For steady cash flow

Lakshmi's presence in this form is invoked for continuity of income rather than a single windfall — receivables, retention, working capital.

For a settled mind in business

Devotees speak of clearer judgement and less anxiety once the work has been placed formally before the fire.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Lakshmi Ganapathi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Lakshmi Ganapathi — the goddess of knowledge itself

Lakshmi Ganapathi is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Lakshmi Ganapathi Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

Chaturthi, the fourth lunar day, is Ganapathi's own tithi and the first choice. Sankashti Chaturthi is preferred when obstacles are the main concern. Wednesday and Friday are also favoured, as is Vinayaka Chaturthi. For the Lakshmi Ganapathi form, Friday in the waxing fortnight is especially suitable. Our priests will match a date to your birth star.
The Lakshmi Ganapathi Homam is a fire ritual offered to Ganapathi in the form seated with Lakshmi. Obstacle removal and the prayer for abundance are made in one rite. It is traditionally taken up for business growth, new ventures, expansion and the closing of deals.
Ganapathi Homam is the Vedic fire offering to Ganesha, made before any undertaking. Ghee, modaka, durva grass and other offerings are given into a consecrated fire while his mantras are chanted, so that the work ahead begins without hindrance. It is the customary opening rite of nearly every Vedic ceremony.
Because wealth needs a clear road. Ganapathi removes what blocks; Lakshmi provides what flows. Tradition holds that prosperity which arrives without Ganapathi's sanction does not stay, and effort without Lakshmi's grace does not fruit. Merchant households have worshipped the pair together for centuries, particularly at Diwali.
The pairing represents wisdom guarding abundance. Lakshmi is invoked for wealth and Ganapathi for the discernment and clearance to hold it well. In business worship the two are placed side by side so that gain and good judgement come together rather than apart.
Tradition asks for cleanliness, a lit lamp at dusk, an uncluttered entrance and a place of worship kept in order. Friday offerings, the Sri Suktam, and honouring guests and elders are all part of the custom. A homa such as this one is the formal version of the same intention, performed on your behalf with prasadam and an energised yantra sent to your home.
Yes. Both the standing and seated forms are worshipped at home. Many families prefer the seated Lakshmi in the house, as sitting suggests settled residence, and keep the standing form in shops and business premises. Either is acceptable when kept clean, facing east or west, and worshipped with a daily lamp.
It is a Standard-tier fire ritual in which Ganapathi and Lakshmi are invoked together in the sacred kunda. Its significance for business is direct: the rite first offers up the blockages in a venture, then asks for growth and steady flow on the same flame. Devotees book it before openings, expansions and important negotiations.
The Lakshmi Ganapathi Homam benefits described in tradition are the clearing of hindrances in trade, the opening of new opportunities and partnerships, momentum in stalled deals, steadier cash flow, and a settled mind for the one carrying the business. The homa is performed as a prayer; the tradition does not promise outcomes.
Business owners, traders, professionals in practice, startup founders and those about to sign, launch or expand. Families also book it for a member entering a new commercial undertaking. Qualified priests at our Yagna Ashram perform the rite on your behalf — you do not need to attend or fast.
Chaturthi tithi, Friday, and the waxing fortnight are the strongest general windows, along with Hasta, Rohini and Pushya nakshatra for commercial matters. Vinayaka Chaturthi, Akshaya Tritiya and Diwali are traditional dates. Share your birth details at booking and our priests will fix the muhurat for you.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapathi puja and punyahavachanam, then take the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra. The kalasha is established, Agni is invoked in the kunda, and the Lakshmi Ganapathi mantra is offered with ghee, modaka, durva, lotus, samidha, grains and homa dravya. Sri Suktam is recited during the Lakshmi portion. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana and blessings, after which prasadam and the energised yantra are couriered to you.
