Also spelled Lakshmi Ganapathi Homam
लक्ष्मी गणपति होमGanapathi clears the road; Lakshmi walks down it. A fire rite for the venture waiting to begin and the deal waiting to close.
The Lakshmi Ganapathi Homa is a Vedic fire offering made to Ganapathi in the form where Lakshmi is seated with him — the remover of obstacles and the giver of abundance in one seat. In business the two are inseparable. A venture stalls either because the road is blocked or because the flow has thinned. This homa addresses both in a single fire: the obstruction is offered first, then the prayer for increase is placed on the same flame.
Merchants and householders have kept this form for generations, invoking it before opening a shop, signing a partnership, launching a new line, or entering a season on which the year depends. Ghee, modaka, lotus and grain go into the kunda while the priests chant. What you are doing is old and simple — announcing your work before the fire, asking that the way be cleared and the wealth be steady, and letting the smoke carry the request. Your sankalpa is taken in your name and gotra, whether you are in Chennai, Sydney or New Jersey.
ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं ग्लौं गं गणपतये वर वरद सर्वजनं मे वशमानय स्वाहा With the seed-sounds of prosperity and grace, I invoke Ganapathi the giver of boons — may all people be favourable to me, and this offering be received.Tradition prescribes the Lakshmi Ganapathi Homa at the turning points of a working life. These are the intentions devotees most often place before the fire.
Offered when a business, shop or practice is about to open, so the first step is taken with Ganapathi's sanction.
Sought by those whose work is steady but not expanding, praying for wider reach and a fuller order book.
Invoked where negotiations drag, approvals sit unsigned, or a contract keeps slipping — the classic prayer for obstacles to move.
Performed by those seeking fresh clients, partnerships, tenders or markets, asking that the right doors be opened.
Lakshmi's presence in this form is invoked for continuity of income rather than a single windfall — receivables, retention, working capital.
Devotees speak of clearer judgement and less anxiety once the work has been placed formally before the fire.
