The Ritual and Its Weight

The Chinnamasta Homa is a fire rite addressed to Chinnamasta, the self-decapitated Goddess of the ten Mahavidyas. Her image is fierce and unmistakable: she severs her own head, and the life-force streams outward as nourishment. The tradition reads this not as violence but as decisive cutting — the end of hesitation, the breaking of a knot that has held too long. Where other rites coax, this one cuts.

Devotees turn to the chinnamasta homa when progress has stalled without obvious cause. A file that never moves. A negotiation that reopens and reopens. A plan approved in principle and never in fact. In the obstruction-removal tradition, such stagnation is treated as a build-up of resistance around your karmic path, and the chinnamasta homam is prescribed to dissolve it in fire. Ghee, herbs and mantra go into the flame while the priest offers the sankalpa in your name, your nakshatra and your gotra.

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं ऐं वज्रवैरोचनीये हूं हूं फट् स्वाहा An invocation to the radiant, thunderbolt-bright Goddess, calling on her power to strike through and dissolve every obstruction in the seeker's path.

Why Devotees Book This

The chinnamasta homam benefits described in the Tantric and Puranic sources centre on one theme — decisive movement where there has been none.

Stalled work set moving

Prescribed when projects, applications or approvals have sat still for months with no clear reason.

Cutting through indecision

Chinnamasta is invoked for the clarity to choose and act, rather than circling the same question.

Repeated hurdles addressed

For the pattern where one obstacle clears and another appears in its place, the rite is offered as a root-level remedy.

Courage in confrontation

Sought by those who must face a difficult negotiation, a legal matter or an entrenched opposition.

Release from draining ties

Traditionally performed to loosen attachments, habits and associations that quietly consume your energy.

Steadying the mind under pressure

Like the wider homa benefits of Mahavidya worship, the fire is offered for inner composure when circumstances press hard.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Chinnamasta Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

How to wear your energised Chinnamasta Yantra

Who is invoked

Chinnamasta — the goddess of knowledge itself

Chinnamasta is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Chinnamasta Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

It is a Vedic-Tantric fire ritual offered to Chinnamasta, the sixth of the ten Mahavidyas. She is depicted severing her own head — an image the tradition reads as the decisive cutting of what binds. The homa is performed when progress is blocked, and its significance lies in that decisiveness: it is invoked to end stagnation rather than merely soften it. Offerings of ghee, herbs and grains are made into the consecrated fire while her mantra is chanted the prescribed number of times, with a sankalpa taken in your name.
The chinnamasta homa benefits named in tradition include the clearing of delays and repeated hurdles, clarity in place of indecision, courage before difficult confrontations, release from draining attachments, and steadiness of mind under pressure. As with tryambakam homa benefits and other classical fire rites, these are what the scriptures prescribe the ritual for — the fruit rests with the Goddess and with your own karma, and no outcome is promised.
Anyone facing obstruction may sponsor it — those whose work or education has stalled, people caught in prolonged litigation or negotiation, entrepreneurs whose ventures keep meeting resistance, and seekers advised a Mahavidya remedy by their astrologer. You do not perform it yourself. Qualified priests trained in Shakta upasana perform the chinnamasta puja and homa on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram, and you watch the live telecast from wherever you are.
Chinnamasta Jayanti, on Vaishakha Shukla Chaturdashi, is the foremost day. Ashtami and Chaturdashi tithis are favoured through the year, as are the nights of Chaitra and Sharada Navaratri. Ashlesha and Moola nakshatra are chosen for deeply entrenched obstructions. When you book, our panchanga team fixes the muhurat against your birth star and tells you the date and time before the rite.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana, then take the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra. The kalasha is established and Chinnamasta invoked with her dhyana shloka. Agni is kindled in the kunda, and the root mantra is offered with ghee through the prescribed count of ahutis, along with samidha of palasha and other woods, red flowers, sesame, rice, honey and specified herbs. The rite closes with purnahuti, the waving of deepa and aarti, and prayers for your family. Prasadam and an energised yantra are then couriered to you.
Book online from any country. Choose your package on this page, enter your name, gotra, nakshatra and sankalpa intent, and our team confirms the muhurat with you. On the day, a private live telecast link reaches you so you can sit with the fire wherever you are. Afterwards, prasadam and the energised yantra are couriered to your address worldwide at no extra cost.
