Brahmacharini Homa

Also spelled Brahmacharini Homam

ब्रह्मचारिणी होम

The Goddess of tapas and unwavering resolve — invoked in fire, so your sadhana holds steady and your devotion deepens.

  • Performed for you alone — never a group ceremony
  • Muhurta fixed from your own birth chart, confirmed within 24–48 working hours
  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

The Brahmacharini Homa is a fire offering to the second form of Navadurga — the Goddess who walked barefoot through years of austerity with nothing but a rosary and a water pot in her hands. She is the shape devotion takes when it refuses to waver. Where other rites ask for things, this one asks for the strength to keep asking, to keep sitting, to keep chanting when the mind has grown restless and results are nowhere in sight.

Devotees turn to the Brahmacharini Homam when practice has gone dry, when a vow feels heavy, or when the heart wants a steadier place to rest. Ghee, samidha and herbs are offered into the consecrated fire while her mantra is chanted, and the discipline of the ritual itself becomes the prayer. Our priests perform it on your behalf at the Yagna Ashram and telecast it live, so you can sit before your own lamp and follow every oblation from wherever you are.

दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलू। देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥ ॐ देवी ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः॥ May the supreme Goddess Brahmacharini, who holds the rosary and the water pot in her lotus hands, be gracious to me.

The Brahmacharini Homam is traditionally aligned with days sacred to Devi. Our priests fix the muhurat and confirm it with you before the ritual.

Second Day of Navaratri

Dwitiya of both Chaitra and Sharada Navaratri is her own day, when the second form of Navadurga is worshipped — the most sought-after time for this homa.

Shukla Paksha Dwitiya

The second lunar day of the waxing fortnight in any month carries her tithi and is favoured for renewing sadhana.

Fridays and Ashtami

Days sacred to the Goddess through the year, chosen when a devotee wishes to begin a vrata, japa sankalpa or period of disciplined practice.

Rohini or Pushya Nakshatra

Nourishing stars suited to rites of vow-taking, initiation and steady inner growth.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Brahmacharini Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Brahmacharini Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual — and even its timing is set for you personally.

Our astrologer marks the auspicious date and time to wear the yantra according to your birth details — sent to you in the email carrying your shipment's tracking number.

03

Face East or North

Perform the wearing process facing east or north for maximum benefit.

Show lamp and incense to the amulet before wearing it.

Frequently asked

The Brahmacharini Homa is a Vedic fire ritual dedicated to Devi Brahmacharini, the second of the nine forms of Durga. She embodies tapas — austerity held with love. Her image carries a rosary and a water pot, the tools of a life given to practice. The homa is performed to honour that spirit and to ask for it in your own sadhana: patience, restraint and devotion that does not waver.
The tradition prescribes the Brahmacharini Homam for spiritual growth — steadiness in daily practice, deepening bhakti, a calmer mind, strength to keep a vow, and the grace of the Goddess over your inner life. It is a rite of devotion rather than a transaction, and it is offered in that spirit.
Anyone drawn to the inner path may have it performed on their behalf — seekers beginning japa or meditation, those observing a vrata or Navaratri fast, students of a spiritual tradition, and families who wish to place their home under Devi's blessing. At AstroBhava, qualified priests perform it for you; you take part by watching the live telecast.
The second day of Navaratri, in both Chaitra and Sharada, is her own day and the most auspicious. Shukla Paksha Dwitiya, Fridays, Ashtami tithi, and Rohini or Pushya nakshatra are also favoured. Our priests select the muhurat according to the Panchang and share the date and time with you in advance.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and a sankalpa taken in your name, gotra and birth star. The kunda is prepared and Agni invoked. Devi Brahmacharini is installed and worshipped, and her mantra is chanted while ghee, samidha, navadhanya, herbs, flowers and havan dravya are offered as oblations. The rite closes with purnahuti, aarti, and prayers for your spiritual wellbeing. Prasadam from the fire and an energised yantra are then couriered to you, wherever you live.
Book online from any country. Share your name, gotra and birth details at checkout. Our priests fix the muhurat, take the sankalpa in your name at our Yagna Ashram, and send you the link to watch the homa live. Prasadam and the energised yantra follow by courier, free of shipping cost.
