The Ritual and Its Weight

When the earth sank into the cosmic waters, Vishnu took the form of a boar, plunged through the dark, and raised her back on his tusk. That is the story the Bhoo Varaha Homa returns to. Bhoo Devi is the earth herself — land, harvest, wealth, the ground you stand on. Varaha is the force that lifts her when she has gone under. Devotees who feel their livelihood slipping below the surface come to this fire for exactly that reason.

In the wealth tradition, the Bhoo Varaha Homa is prescribed where income has become unsteady, where debt has piled higher than earnings, or where property and land matters refuse to settle. Ancient shrines to the deity, such as the Sri Bhoovarahanatha Swamy temple at Kallahalli, have drawn petitioners of this kind for centuries. At our Yagna Ashram, qualified priests kindle the fire on your behalf, name you and your gotra in the sankalpa, and offer the prescribed oblations while you watch the flames live from wherever you are.

ॐ नमो भगवते वराहरूपाय भूभुर्वःस्वःस्वरूपाय भूपतित्वं मे देहि ददापय स्वाहा॥ Salutations to the Lord who took the form of the boar, who is himself the earth, the mid-realm and the heavens — grant me lordship over the earth and its abundance, and cause it to be given.

Why Devotees Book This

Among the bhoo varaha homam benefits named in the wealth tradition, these are the ones devotees most often write to us about.

Steady Income

Offered when earnings arrive in fits and starts. The rite is prescribed to settle the flow of livelihood into something you can plan around.

Relief from Debt

Traditionally invoked when borrowings have outgrown income, so that repayment finds a path and fresh borrowing is not needed.

Ground Under Your Feet

Varaha lifted the earth from the deep. Devotees turn to him when the base of their finances feels submerged and they want it raised again.

Land and Property Matters

Bhoo Devi presides over land. The homa is offered before purchase, during disputes, or when a property refuses to sell or settle.

Obstacles in Enterprise

For business owners whose ventures stall repeatedly, the fire is offered to clear what obstructs and let effort meet its result.

Steadiness of Mind Around Money

The tradition holds that Varaha's grace brings composure — the clarity to decide well when money matters press on you.

Sacred Timing

Our priests choose the muhurat from the panchanga for your sankalpa. These are the windows the tradition favours for Bhoo Varaha.

Varaha Jayanti

The Shukla Paksha Tritiya of Bhadrapada marks the boar avatar's descent. The most potent day in the year for this fire.

Shravana Nakshatra

Vishnu's own star. Oblations to any of his avataras, Varaha included, are held to carry especially well on this day.

Ekadashi and Dwadashi

The lunar days sacred to Vishnu. Long favoured for Varaha worship, and often chosen when the concern is debt or livelihood.

Thursdays and Shukla Paksha

Guru's day in the waxing fortnight, the standard window for wealth rites when a festival date is not near.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Bhoo Varaha Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Bhoo Varaha — the goddess of knowledge itself

Bhoo Varaha is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Bhoo Varaha Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

A homa is a Vedic fire ritual. Agni, the fire, is treated as the mouth of the gods — ghee, grains, herbs and wood are offered into him with mantras, and he carries those offerings to the deity named in the sankalpa. Every homa opens with a sankalpa, a spoken statement of who the rite is for and why. That is what makes a homa performable on your behalf: your name, gotra and birth star are declared into the fire, so the offering is yours even when the flame is a continent away.
The Bhoo Varaha Homa is a fire ritual addressed to Varaha, the boar avatar of Vishnu, and to Bhoo Devi, the earth goddess he rescued from the cosmic waters. Its significance in the wealth tradition rests on that act: Varaha is the deity who restores what has sunk. Because Bhoo Devi embodies land, harvest and material wealth, the homa is prescribed for prosperity, steady income, debt relief and stability in property matters. Shrines like the Sri Bhoovarahanatha Swamy temple at Kallahalli have long been visited for the same reasons; the bhoo varaha homa brings that invocation into a fire kindled specifically for you.
The tradition prescribes the bhoo varaha homam for steadying an irregular income, easing the burden of accumulated debt, clearing obstructions in business and enterprise, and settling disputes or delays involving land and property. Devotees also perform it before a major purchase or a new venture, seeking a firm foundation. As with all rites, the homa is an offering made in faith — what it is prescribed for is not a promise of outcome.
Those whose earnings have turned unpredictable, those carrying debt they are working to clear, business owners meeting repeated obstruction, and families dealing with land or property matters that will not resolve. It is also taken up by anyone seeking general prosperity and stability. There is no restriction of age, gender or region. You book, you give your name, gotra and nakshatra, and our priests perform the homa on your behalf at the Yagna Ashram.
Varaha Jayanti, in the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada, is the foremost day. Shravana nakshatra, Ekadashi and Dwadashi, and Thursdays in the waxing fortnight are all favoured. If you need the homa sooner, our priests will select the nearest suitable muhurat from the panchanga and confirm the date and time with you before the fire is kindled.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana to purify the space, then pronounce the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra. The kunda is prepared and Agni invoked. A kalasha is established for Bhoo Varaha and worshipped with the sixteen upacharas. The Varaha mantra is then chanted through the prescribed count of japa, with ahutis offered at each round. Samagri includes cow ghee, samidha wood, black and white sesame, rice, navadhanya, honey, herbs and seasonal flowers and fruit. The rite closes with purnahuti, arati, prayers for the earth's abundance, and prayoga — the offering of the merit to you. Prasadam and an energised yantra are then couriered to you.
Book online from any country on this page. Give your name, gotra if you know it, and birth star; if you do not know your gotra, our team will guide you. Our priests confirm the muhurat, perform the homa at our Yagna Ashram, and telecast it live to you so you can watch and receive the sankalpa in your own name. Prasadam and the energised yantra are couriered to your address worldwide, free of shipping charge.
