Not sure which rashi is yours?

Vedic readings go by the Moon sign. If you know “Aries” or “Scorpio” from a birth date, that is usually a Western Sun sign. There is no reliable shortcut from that sign to your rashi, so enter your birth details below and we will take you straight to the right reading.

What this week’s readings are drawn from

The week these are written from

These are the calculated facts behind all twelve readings for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Week positions use a Monday noon reference; tithis use each day’s local sunrise. We publish the basis so it can be checked rather than taken on trust.

    How to read one

What a weekly horoscope can and cannot tell you

Read it by Moon sign, not Sun sign

Vedic readings are counted from the Moon. If you know “Leo” or “Scorpio” from a birth date, that is a Western Sun sign — a different measure entirely, and the two systems also differ by about twenty-four degrees.

Most people’s rashi is one sign back from the Western sign they know. The check above resolves it properly.

Its real use is choosing days

A week carries the Moon through roughly three signs, so the house it occupies from each rashi changes across the seven days. Knowing which days fall where is genuinely useful — when to schedule the difficult conversation, when to leave the errand alone.

That is what a weekly reading is for. It is not a forecast of events, and anything claiming to be one is inventing.

Where it sits among the four

More useful for planning than a single daily reading, and narrower than a monthly or yearly one. A day rests on one Moon position; a week follows its passage through roughly three signs plus whatever grahas change sign; a year rests on Saturn, Jupiter and the nodes, which genuinely operate at the level of a rashi.

The further out you read, the more the reading is actually about your rashi. Yearly predictions →

Where it stops, a chart begins

Everything on this page is one twelfth of the picture. Your lagna, the houses your planets occupy, and above all the dasha you are running decide what a transit actually does to you.

Two people with the same rashi in different dashas will have entirely different years. Generate your kundli →

Why we say a weekly horoscope is limited

Because it is, and because most sites will not say so. A reading for Mesha this week applies to roughly a hundred million people. Whatever it says will fit some of them well, some badly, and most somewhere in between. That is arithmetic, not modesty.

What we can do honestly is write from the actual sky. The movements above are real, and the readings follow from them — so a week with a Mercury sign change reads differently from one without. A great deal of weekly horoscope content is generated without reference to any of this, and it reads the same in every week of the year.

And we will keep pointing you past it. If something specific is worrying you, a weekly reading is the wrong instrument — the chart and the running dasha are where the answer is. That is a strange thing for a horoscope page to say, and we would rather say it than not. Have the chart read →

Why a week is a natural unit

The Moon takes about twenty-seven and a third days to circle the zodiac, so a week carries it through roughly three signs — changing house from every rashi as it moves. That shifting rhythm is what a weekly reading captures and a daily reading cannot: not a single position, but an arc.

The week also happens to be the unit the tradition already thinks in. Each weekday belongs to a graha — Sunday to the Sun, Thursday to Jupiter, Saturday to Saturn — and the hora system that produced the seven-day order is among the oldest surviving parts of practical astrology. So a reading that names days is speaking the tradition’s own language.

What the week adds over the day is a sense of sequence. What it still cannot supply is anything about you specifically, because every reading here is written for a rashi, and a rashi is a twelfth of the world.

    Questions

    About weekly readings

Moon sign — your rashi. Vedic astrology counts transits from the Moon, the opposite of Western practice, and the two systems also differ by about twenty-four degrees of zodiac. Most people’s Vedic rashi is one sign back from the Western sign they know, so reading the wrong one is common. The check above resolves it from your birth details.

As a description of the week’s general shape for a rashi — which days favour what — reasonable, and more useful than a daily reading. As a prediction about you specifically, poor, and unavoidably so since it applies to a twelfth of everyone alive. We derive ours from the actual transits rather than drawing from stock sentences.

Two reasons worth knowing. Many sites publish Western Sun-sign readings, which are a different system answering a different question. And a good deal of daily horoscope content is not calculated at all — it is drawn from a stock of sentences and would read identically on any date. Ours are written from the transits shown above, which you can check against any panchang.

Yearly, by a distance, because it rests on Saturn, Jupiter and the nodes — which move slowly and genuinely operate at the level of a rashi. Weekly sits in the middle: more substantial than a daily reading because it follows seven days of the Moon’s passage, and narrower than a month. Yearly predictions →

Most likely because your chart and your running dasha are doing something a rashi reading cannot see. A supportive week for Mesha means little to a Mesha native in a difficult mahadasha. This is the honest limit of the format, and if the mismatch is persistent it is a sign the chart is worth reading properly. Check your dasha →

Every Monday at sunrise. We use the Monday-to-Sunday week rather than a lunar fortnight, since that is how people plan — but the readings themselves are calculated from the transits falling in that span, not from the calendar. Today’s panchang →

Reading twelve horoscopes to find yours?

That is the sign a general reading is not answering your question. An astrologer reads your own chart — the lagna, the houses, the dasha you are running — and tells you what the transits actually mean for you. The fee is credited in full against any ritual you book afterwards.
