The Ritual and Its Weight

The Skanda Homa is a fire offering to Skanda, the six-faced son of Shiva who was born to lead the devas when no one else could. Tradition places him at the head of an army, spear in hand, sent out precisely when a matter had become too tangled for ordinary means. That is the reason this homa is turned to in legal trouble. A court case is a battle of claims, and the devotee who feels outnumbered by papers, delays and opposing voices comes to the one who commands.

A homa is not a prayer whispered and let go. Ghee meets flame, mantras are counted, and each offering carries your name, your star and the matter you are contending with into the fire. Priests perform the Skanda Homa at our Yagna Ashram on your behalf while you watch the live telecast from wherever you are. What the tradition prescribes here is clarity of mind, steadiness through the hearings, and the courage to stand behind what is true.

ॐ शरवणभवाय नमः Salutations to the one born in the reed grove — Skanda, who came into the world to lead and to protect.

Why Devotees Book This

Devotees turn to the Skanda Homa when a legal matter has become heavy. These are the intentions the tradition attaches to the rite.

Court cases and hearings

Offered when a case is filed, listed or nearing judgment, seeking a fair and truthful hearing.

Long-pending disputes

For matters that have dragged across years — property claims, contested wills, boundary quarrels — asking that they move toward resolution.

Courage under pressure

Skanda is invoked for the nerve to face cross-examination, opposing counsel and public scrutiny without faltering.

Clarity of mind

Sought for a settled head when decisions must be made quickly, and for the discernment to choose the right counsel and the right course.

Relief from hostility

Among the classical skanda homam benefits is protection when opposition turns personal — from ill will, false accusation and pressure from adversaries.

Protection of family and standing

Like the subramanya homam benefits described in the tradition, this rite is offered for the good name and safety of the household while a matter is contested.

Shashti Tithi

The sixth lunar day is Skanda's own tithi, and Shukla Paksha Shashti is the most sought-after day for skanda pooja and this homa.

Krittika and Vishakha Nakshatra

Krittika recalls the six mothers who raised him; Vishakha is his star in many traditions. Both are held auspicious for the Skanda Homa.

Tuesday

Mangalavara, the day of valour and contest, is favoured when the intention is a legal battle or an adversarial matter.

Skanda Shashti and Thai Poosam

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Skanda Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Skanda — the goddess of knowledge itself

Skanda is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Skanda Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

Skanda Guru Kavasam is a Tamil devotional hymn of armour (kavacham) addressed to Skanda as guru, composed in recent times and widely recited by devotees for protection and guidance. It is a stotra you can chant yourself, at home, any day. The Skanda Homa is different in kind: it is a fire ritual with agni, ghee, samagri and counted mantra offerings, performed by qualified priests on your behalf. Many devotees recite the kavasam daily and book the homa when a specific matter, such as a court case, needs formal ritual attention.
The Skanda Homa, also written skanda homam, is a Vedic fire offering to Skanda — Murugan, Subramanya, Kartikeya — the commander of the celestial armies. Its significance lies in whom it addresses: a deity the scriptures describe as appointed to settle what could not be settled otherwise. Because a legal dispute is a contest of claims, devotees facing court matters, appeals and long-standing disputes turn to this homa for clarity, courage and a just outcome.
Tradition prescribes this homa for relief in court cases and legal disputes, for movement in matters that have stalled, for steadiness of mind through hearings, and for protection from hostility and false accusation. The skanda homam benefits described in the texts also extend to courage, decisiveness and the safeguarding of family reputation while a matter is contested. The rite is an offering made with sincerity; the outcome rests with the deity and with the process of law.
Anyone carrying a legal burden may sponsor it — a person facing a case, defending a property claim, awaiting judgment, or supporting a family member through litigation. It is also taken up by those who feel opposed at work or in the community. You do not need to be present or to know any ritual procedure. Qualified priests perform the Skanda Homa at our Yagna Ashram in your name, with your birth star and gotra included in the sankalpa.
Shashti tithi, especially in the bright fortnight, is the classical day for skanda puja and this homa. Krittika and Vishakha nakshatras are held auspicious, as are Tuesdays for matters of contest. Skanda Shashti and Thai Poosam are particularly favoured. If a hearing date is approaching, share it when you book and our priests will recommend a muhurat that sits well before it.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana to purify the space. Your sankalpa is then declared with your name, gotra and nakshatra, and the matter you are contending with. Agni is kindled in the kunda, and Skanda is invoked with his mantras. Offerings follow through the counted japa — ghee, samidha of appropriate wood, sesame, rice, flowers and traditional samagri. The rite closes with purnahuti, the full oblation, followed by deeparadhana and prasadam. You watch it all on live telecast.
Book online from any country on this page. Send us your name, gotra if you know it, and your birth star, along with a brief note on the legal matter. We confirm the date and share the live telecast link so you can watch the entire homa from home. Afterwards, prasadam and an energised yantra are couriered to you anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
