The Ritual and Its Weight

The Chitra Gupta Homa is a Vedic fire rite offered to the divine scribe who records every action a soul performs. Litigation is, at heart, a dispute over what really happened. Papers contradict papers. Witnesses remember differently. Delay becomes its own punishment. This homa turns to the one who needs no witness, and asks that the truth of your conduct be brought into the light of the hearing.

Devotees come to this fire with a summons in hand, a title deed under challenge, a partnership gone sour, or a complaint filed against a good name. The tradition prescribes the rite for clarity in adjudication, for the strength to face proceedings without fear, and for the courage to keep one's own record clean. Our priests perform the chitra gupta puja and homa on your behalf at the Yagna Ashram, invoking your name, gotra and the specific matter you are carrying.

ॐ चित्रगुप्ताय विद्महे धर्माधिपाय धीमहि । तन्नो चित्रः प्रचोदयात् ॥ We contemplate Chitra Gupta, the lord who upholds dharma; may that divine recorder illumine and guide our understanding.

Why Devotees Book This

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Chitra Gupta Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Chitra Gupta — the goddess of knowledge itself

Chitra Gupta is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Chitra Gupta Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

Chitra Gupta is the divine recorder in Yama's court, born of Lord Brahma's meditation and charged with maintaining the account of every being's deeds. His name means the hidden picture — the complete, unedited record of what a soul has done. He is depicted with a pen, an inkpot and the great register. Because he neither forgets nor favours, he is invoked in matters of justice, testimony and truthful account.
The Chitra Gupta Homa is a Vedic fire ritual in which offerings are made into a consecrated agni kunda while the mantras of the divine scribe are chanted. Its significance lies in its subject: the record itself. Where a legal dispute is a contest over what is true, this rite appeals to the keeper of the true account. Traditionally it is performed for court cases, disputed claims, questioned reputation and the pursuit of a just outcome.
The rite is prescribed for relief in pending litigation, for clarity and truthfulness in evidence and documentation, for protection of one's good name against false allegation, and for resolution in property, partition and inheritance disputes. Devotees also perform it for inner steadiness through long proceedings and for freedom from the enmity that keeps a dispute alive. The tradition prescribes the homa for these purposes; the outcome of any matter remains with the court and with divine will.
Anyone carrying a legal burden may sponsor it — a party to a civil or criminal case, someone facing an inquiry or complaint, a family divided over property, a business in contractual dispute, or a person whose name has been wrongly implicated. Advocates and those in administrative or judicial work also offer it. You need not attend or know the procedure. Our priests perform it in your name, gotra and nakshatra.
Chitragupta Jayanti, falling on Yama Dwitiya two days after Deepavali, is the most traditional occasion. Saturdays and the Chitra nakshatra are also favoured, as are the days immediately preceding a hearing, filing or judgement. If your matter is urgent, tell us the date that concerns you and our panchang team will select the nearest suitable muhurat and confirm your slot.
The priests begin with achamana, sankalpa in your name and gotra with your legal concern stated, and Ganapati puja to clear obstacles. Kalasha sthapana and the chitra gupta puja follow, with invocation of the divine scribe upon the yantra. Agni is kindled in the kunda and the mantras are offered with ghee, samidha of prescribed woods, black and white sesame, rice, honey, navadhanya, herbs and flowers. The rite concludes with purnahuti, aarti, and prayers for a just resolution. It is streamed live to you, and the energised yantra with prasadam is couriered to your address anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
Book online from any country on this page. Share your name, gotra and birth star, and a brief note on the matter — case type, stage, and any hearing date. Our team confirms the muhurat and sends you the live stream link. Watch from wherever you are. Afterwards, the prasadam and the energised yantra reach you by courier, with delivery details shared once dispatched.
