The Ritual and Its Weight

The Bagalamukhi Homa is a Maha homa offered to the eighth of the ten Mahavidyas — the Devi who holds the tongue of her adversary and stops him mid-sentence. Where other rites ask for increase, this one asks for stillness: the stilling of false testimony, of malicious paperwork, of the voice that keeps a dispute alive. That is why the tradition places it in the hands of those caught in litigation, land quarrels, contested inheritance and prolonged official trouble.

Turmeric is the whole grammar of this rite. Yellow cloth, yellow flowers, haridra offerings, the yellow flame — Bagalamukhi is Pitambara Devi, and the priests build her seat in colour before they build it in mantra. Over the sequence of oblations the ritual is directed toward one point: that truth stands and distortion loses its footing. You do not need to be present. The fire is lit at our Yagna Ashram in your name and gotra, and telecast to you wherever you are.

ॐ ह्लीं बगलामुखि सर्वदुष्टानां वाचं मुखं पदं स्तम्भय जिह्वां कीलय बुद्धिं विनाशय ह्लीं ॐ स्वाहा O Bagalamukhi, still the speech, the face and the steps of all who act with malice, restrain their tongue and undo their scheming — to you this offering is made.

Why Devotees Book This

The bagalamukhi homa benefits described in the shastras all circle one theme — the quieting of hostile force so that a just matter can be heard. Devotees come to it for these reasons.

Court cases and hearings

Offered before a filing, a hearing date or a judgment, asking that your side of the matter be heard clearly and without distortion.

Relief from prolonged litigation

For disputes that have dragged across years — property, partition, contract, tenancy — the rite is traditionally repeated until the matter reaches its close.

Protection from false allegation

Bagalamukhi is invoked against slander, fabricated complaints and testimony given in bad faith.

Steadiness against opposition

For those facing coordinated pressure from rivals or hostile parties, the homa is offered for composure and unshaken nerve.

Clarity of speech and argument

Devotees who must speak — in court, in arbitration, before an authority — ask Devi for measured words and a clear mind at the moment it matters.

Closure of official obstruction

Traditionally offered where approvals, records or clearances have stalled without reason, asking that the blockage give way.

What a Maha Homa is

Not every fire ritual is performed at the same scale. A Maha Homa is our largest form — more priests, a longer fire, and the complete chanting sequence the rite prescribes rather than an abridged one. This is what that means in practice.

Priests5 or 10Chanting in unison, never in rotation
The fire burnsApprox. 2 hoursFrom the sankalpa to the final aarti

TelecastEvery minuteNothing is performed off camera

A Maha Homa is performed for one devotee and their named family, the same as any homa we conduct. What the scale changes is the weight of the offering — ten trained voices holding one hymn for two hours is a different undertaking from one voice for an hour, and it is reserved for the intentions that warrant it.

Both packages are the same rite. The complete Bagalamukhim, all thirty-one verses, over approximately two hours, with the same offerings, the same free energised Surya Yantra sealed in its silver amulet, and the same live telecast. What changes is how many trained voices carry the hymn at once.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Bagalamukhi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Bagalamukhi — the goddess of knowledge itself

Bagalamukhi is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Bagalamukhi Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Bagalamukhi Homa is a Maha fire ritual offered to Devi Bagalamukhi, the eighth Mahavidya, known as Pitambara — she of the yellow garment. Her iconography shows her seizing the tongue of an adversary. The tradition therefore assigns this homa to matters of speech and conflict: court cases, false accusation, land and inheritance disputes, and hostile opposition. Offerings of turmeric, yellow flowers and ghee are made into the fire while her mantra is recited, asking that distortion be stilled and a just matter be heard as it truly is.
The bagalamukhi homam benefits named in tradition include relief in ongoing litigation, protection from slander and fabricated complaints, steadiness before rivals, clarity of speech when you must argue your case, and the loosening of official obstructions. Devotees also search for bagalamukhi homam benefits in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Tamil, and the sense is the same across all of them — the rite is offered so that hostile force is quieted and truth holds its ground. Scripture prescribes the homa for these purposes; no rite is a substitute for competent legal counsel, and no outcome is promised.
It is booked by anyone carrying a legal burden — a pending case, an appeal, a property or partition dispute, a contested will, a business conflict, or an accusation made in bad faith. Those facing sustained opposition from rivals also turn to it. Because Bagalamukhi is a fierce Mahavidya, her rite is performed only by priests trained in the Mahavidya sampradaya, with the correct purashcharana and closing offerings. At AstroBhava you do not perform it yourself; our priests perform it on your behalf, in your name and gotra.
Bagalamukhi Jayanti, on Shukla Ashtami of Vaishakha, is the foremost day. Tuesdays, the Ashtami tithi, Navaratri and the Gupt Navaratris of Magha and Ashadha are all favoured. Where a hearing or filing is imminent, the homa is scheduled in the days before it. Send us your birth details and the date that matters, and our panchanga team will fix the muhurat and confirm it to you.
The priests begin with achamana, sankalpa in your name, gotra and stated purpose, then Ganapati puja and punyahavachana. A kalasha is established and Devi Bagalamukhi is invoked on her yantra, dressed in yellow. Nyasa and the Bagalamukhi mantra japa follow. The agni is kindled and oblations are offered — ghee, turmeric, yellow mustard, yellow flowers, haridra-soaked rice, samidha and the prescribed dravyas — each sealed with svaha. The rite closes with purnahuti, arati, raksha and prarthana. Every item of samagri is arranged by us at the Yagna Ashram; you need send nothing.
Choose your package on this page and enter the name, gotra, nakshatra and birth details of everyone the sankalpa should cover. We confirm the muhurat and send you the live telecast link, so you can watch the fire from any country. After purnahuti, prasadam and an energised Bagalamukhi yantra are couriered to your address worldwide at no extra charge. Bagalamukhi homam cost varies by country and package and is shown on this page once your location is detected — the booking is entirely online, and there is no travel or attendance required.
