The Ritual and Its Weight

Sankata means crisis — the tight, closing situation with no visible exit. A summons you did not expect. A property claim that has dragged through three generations. A hearing adjourned again. The Sankata Hara Ganesha Homa is the fire rite addressed to Ganesha in his form as the destroyer of such crises, offered when a matter has hardened into litigation and ordinary effort no longer shifts it.

In the Ganesha tradition no undertaking begins without him, because he governs the threshold — the doorway between intention and outcome. A legal matter is nothing but a long corridor of thresholds: filings, notices, adjournments, appeals. The sankata hara ganesha homam places your case at his feet before each of those doors, asking that obstruction be lifted, that speech be clear when you must speak, and that the truth of the matter be seen.

ॐ गं गणपतये सर्वविघ्नहराय सर्वाय सर्वगुरवे लम्बोदराय ह्रीं गं नमः Salutations to Ganapati, remover of every obstacle, the all-pervading one, teacher of all, the large-bellied Lord — may the way ahead be opened.

Why Devotees Book This

Devotees turn to this homa when a dispute has entered the courts and the waiting has become its own burden. The tradition prescribes it for the following.

Relief in pending litigation

Offered when a case has stalled, been adjourned repeatedly, or grown heavier with each date.

Clarity before a hearing

Sought before appearances, depositions and mediations, so that you speak plainly and remember what matters.

Removal of procedural obstruction

Invoked against the small blockages that stretch a case for years — missing records, lost notices, delayed filings.

Steadiness against opposition

Traditionally offered when adversaries are many or influential, asking that ill will find no purchase.

A fair reading of the truth

The prayer is not for victory over another but for the facts of your matter to be seen as they are.

Peace while the matter runs

For the anxiety, sleeplessness and family strain that a long dispute brings to a household.

Sacred Timing

Ganesha rites follow the moon and the week. Our priests fix the muhurat from your sankalpa details and the panchanga of the day.

Sankashti Chaturthi

The fourth tithi of the waning moon, the day named for this very form. The most sought-after date for the sankata hara ganesha homa.

Vinayaka Chaturthi

The fourth tithi of the waxing moon, kept when a new phase of the matter begins — a fresh filing, an appeal, a first hearing.

Tuesday, Angaraki Chaturthi

When Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, the day is held especially strong for matters of conflict and contested claims.

Before a listed date

Many devotees book the homa in the days immediately preceding a hearing, judgment or settlement meeting.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Sankata Hara Ganesha Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Sankata Hara Ganesha — the goddess of knowledge itself

Sankata Hara Ganesha is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Sankata Hara Ganesha Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

It is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Ganesha in his aspect as Sankata Hara — the one who removes sankata, the crisis that closes in from every side. Ghee, samidha and offerings are given into the consecrated fire while the Ganapati mantras are chanted for the prescribed count. Its significance in the legal context comes from Ganesha's rule over thresholds and beginnings: a court matter is a long sequence of doors, and this homa asks that each one open.
The tradition prescribes the sankata hara ganesha homam for relief in pending court cases, for the removal of procedural delay and obstruction, for clarity of speech and mind before hearings, for steadiness when opposition is strong, and for peace of mind in a household carrying a long dispute. It is offered as prayer, not as a guarantee of any particular judgment.
Anyone with a matter before a court, tribunal or arbitrator — plaintiff or defendant. It is commonly booked for property and inheritance disputes, contract and business litigation, service and employment matters, and family court proceedings. Advocates sometimes sponsor it on behalf of a client. Our priests perform it on your behalf at the Yagna Ashram; you do not need to be present.
Sankashti Chaturthi, the fourth tithi of the waning moon, is the classical day. Vinayaka Chaturthi and Angaraki Chaturthi, when Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, are also held strong. Many devotees choose a date shortly before a listed hearing. If your matter is urgent, our priests will fix the nearest suitable muhurat from the panchanga.
The priests begin with achamana and Ganapati puja, then take the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra, naming the dispute. The kunda is prepared and Agni invoked. Ganesha is installed and worshipped with the sixteen upacharas. The Ganapati mantras are then chanted with ahutis of ghee, and offerings of durva grass, modaka, coconut, banana, sesame, jaggery, navadhanya and the prescribed samidha follow. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana, prarthana and prasadam. Everything used is arranged by us.
Book online from any country. Send us your name, gotra and birth star, and a brief note on your matter. Our priests confirm the muhurat, perform the homa at our Yagna Ashram in Coimbatore, and telecast it live to you wherever you are. Prasadam and an energised yantra are couriered to your address worldwide, free of shipping cost.
