The Ritual and Its Weight

The Lakshmi Narasimha Homa is a fire offering to Vishnu in His man-lion form, seated with Lakshmi upon His lap. Narasimha came out of a pillar at dusk — neither day nor night, neither inside nor outside — to keep a promise that seemed impossible to keep. That is why the tradition turns to Him when a matter has gone past ordinary remedies: an old case that will not close, a false accusation, a dispute that has swallowed years.

Lakshmi is invoked alongside Him for a reason. Alone, Narasimha is pure heat. With Her beside Him, that heat becomes settled, protective, workable — the strength to face a hearing without fear, and the composure to speak the truth plainly. Devotees book the lakshmi narasimha homam when a legal matter weighs on the household, seeking clarity of mind, steady counsel, and an outcome that is just.

उग्रं वीरं महाविष्णुं ज्वलन्तं सर्वतोमुखम्। नृसिंहं भीषणं भद्रं मृत्युमृत्युं नमाम्यहम्॥ I bow to Narasimha — fierce, valorous, the great Vishnu, blazing and facing every direction, terrifying yet auspicious, the death of death itself.

Why Devotees Book This

The lakshmi narasimha homam benefits described in tradition centre on justice, protection and the courage to see a matter through.

Relief in prolonged litigation

Offered when a case has dragged on for years and each date brings another adjournment.

Protection from false allegation

Narasimha is invoked in tradition as the guardian of the truthful when accusation comes without cause.

Steadiness before a hearing

Devotees ask for a calm mind and clear speech on the day they must stand and answer.

Freedom from fear

The rite is prescribed against bhaya — the dread that settles over a family when notices arrive.

Shield against ill-will

Cross-listed under Success Over Enemies, the homa is turned to when a dispute has become personal.

Lakshmi's steadying grace

Legal matters drain a household. Lakshmi is invoked beside Him for stability while the case runs its course.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Lakshmi Narasimha Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Lakshmi Narasimha — the goddess of knowledge itself

Lakshmi Narasimha is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Lakshmi Narasimha Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

Yes. Tradition especially favours the Lakshmi Narasimha form for the home, because Lakshmi seated with Him renders the fierce aspect gentle and settled. Keep the idol in your puja space facing east or west, offer a lamp and water daily, and maintain simple regularity. Ugra Narasimha forms are generally left to temples; the Lakshmi Narasimha murti is the householder's form.
Yes, and many families do. A framed picture of Lakshmi Narasimha in the puja room or on a clean east-facing wall is entirely appropriate. Avoid bedrooms and areas near the bathroom. A lamp lit before the image at dusk is the customary observance.
Bathe, light a ghee or sesame-oil lamp before the image, and offer water, tulsi leaves and a flower. Chant the Narasimha mantra or the Narasimha Kavacham as many rounds as you can hold steadily. Panakam, sweet rice, or plain jaggery water are the traditional offerings — Narasimha is said to favour cooling naivedya. Saturdays and Swati nakshatra days are kept with a little more care.
Saturday is the day most widely kept for Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, particularly in the South Indian Vaishnava tradition. Swati nakshatra, His birth star, is also observed, and Narasimha Jayanti in Vaishakha is the principal annual day.
He is Vishnu in His fourth avatara — the man-lion who emerged from a pillar at twilight to protect His devotee Prahlada and end Hiranyakashipu's tyranny. In the Lakshmi Narasimha form, Goddess Lakshmi is seated upon His left thigh, cooling His fury. That pairing of ferocity and grace is why He is invoked for protection, for justice, and for fearlessness.
Narasimha Jayanti — Chaturdashi of the bright fortnight of Vaishakha, observed at dusk — is the most auspicious day of the year. Through the year, Saturdays, Swati nakshatra days and the sandhya twilight hour are the recognised windows.
Goddess Lakshmi. As the consort of Vishnu, She accompanies each of His avataras, and in this form She is worshipped as Lakshmi seated with Narasimha. In some traditions She is also invoked here as Chenchulakshmi, the forest-born consort of the Ahobilam Narasimha.
It is a Vedic fire ritual in which offerings are made to Lakshmi Narasimha through the sacred flame, accompanied by the Narasimha mantra and, in fuller observances, the Narasimha Kavacham. Its significance lies in what Narasimha stands for: truth upheld when circumstances seem to make it impossible. That is why the rite is turned to for court cases, disputes and matters of justice.
Tradition prescribes this homa for relief in prolonged legal matters, protection against false accusation, freedom from fear, courage and composure before a hearing, and Lakshmi's steadying presence over a household under strain. The rite is offered as prayer and observance, not as a guarantee of any particular verdict.
Anyone carrying a legal matter — a pending case, an appeal, a property dispute, a professional inquiry — or a family under the weight of ongoing conflict. It is equally observed by those who simply seek Narasimha's protection. Our priests perform it on your behalf; you need only give your name, nakshatra, gotra if known, and your sankalpa.
Narasimha Jayanti at dusk is the foremost muhurat. Otherwise Saturdays, Swati nakshatra, and the sandhya twilight window are preferred. If a hearing date is near, our priests will look at your details and fix the closest suitable muhurat, then confirm the date and time with you.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and the sankalpa taken in your name and nakshatra. Kalasha sthapana and invocation of Lakshmi Narasimha follow. Agni is kindled and consecrated, then the Narasimha mantra is offered with ghee, sesame, samidha of palasha, cooked havis, honey and jaggery, with panakam offered as naivedya. The Narasimha Kavacham is recited. The rite closes with purnahuti, arati, mantra pushpam and prayers for your sankalpa. Ashram-sourced samagri is used throughout.
