  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

Vana Durga is Durga as She dwells in the wilderness — the goddess you call when the path ahead is unmapped and the dark is close. The Vana Durga Homa is a fire rite addressed to that form of Her. Ghee, herbs and forest woods are offered into the kunda while Her mantra is chanted in count, and the fire is asked to become a ring of light around the person named in the sankalpa. Tradition prescribes it when someone feels watched, drained, followed by ill will, or troubled by influences no one can point to.

In the old texts the forest stands for everything outside human control — travel, unfamiliar places, unseen agents, hostile intent. Vana Durga is invoked precisely there. Families have turned to the vana durga homam before long journeys, before entering a new house or business, and after a stretch of unexplained obstruction. At AstroBhava, qualified priests perform this homa on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram in Coimbatore. Your name, gotra and nakshatra go into the sankalpa. You watch the fire live from wherever you are.

ॐ ह्रीं दुं दुर्गायै नमः With the seed-sound of the Goddess, I bow to Durga, the one who is hard to approach and who removes all difficulty.

Why Devotees Book This

Among the vana durga homam benefits described in tradition, these are the reasons devotees most often name when they book.

Shelter from ill will

The homa is prescribed as a shield against drishti, the evil eye, and the quiet ill-wishing of others.

Relief from unseen interference

Where black magic, abhichara or engineered harm is suspected, the fire is offered to dissolve its hold.

Guarding the mind

Sought for freedom from psychic disturbance — heaviness, dread and unrest that follow no visible cause.

Safety in unfamiliar ground

Traditionally invoked before travel, relocation or entering a new house, workplace or land.

Clearing blocked paths

Like the classical durga homa benefits, it is performed when obstacles multiply and effort keeps meeting resistance.

Protection for the household

Families book the vana durga mahavidya homam so that the sankalpa covers children, elders and the home itself.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Vana Durga Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Vana Durga — the goddess of knowledge itself

Vana Durga is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Vana Durga Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Vana Durga Homa is a Vedic fire ritual addressed to Vana Durga, Durga in Her forest-dwelling form. The forest in scripture means everything beyond human control — strange places, unseen agents, hostile intent. Offerings of ghee, herbs and specific woods are made into the kunda with Her mantra so that the fire forms a protective boundary around the devotee named in the sankalpa. It is one of the classical rites of the Protection and Negative Energy category.
Tradition prescribes this homa for protection from evil eye, ill will, black magic and psychic disturbance, and for safety during travel, relocation or entry into new premises. Like the wider durga homam benefits, it is also performed when obstacles keep recurring and a household wants the Goddess's shelter. The rite is offered in faith; no outcome is promised.
Anyone may sponsor it — men, women, families, and those living outside India. It is commonly booked by people who sense negative energy around them, who suspect abhichara, who are about to travel or move, or who want a protective rite for their children and elders. At AstroBhava the homa itself is performed by qualified priests on your behalf; you do not need to be present or to have any ritual training.
Ashtami and Navami tithis, Navaratri, the month of Aadi, and Tuesdays and Fridays are the most favoured. Forest-natured nakshatras such as Moola, Bharani and Mrigashirsha are also chosen. Once you book, our priests select the muhurat using your name, gotra and nakshatra, and confirm the date and time with you before the homa.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana, then take your sankalpa aloud with your name, gotra and nakshatra. Kalasha sthapana and the invocation of Vana Durga follow. Agni is kindled in the kunda and the mantra is offered in count with ghee, samidha of prescribed woods, forest herbs, red flowers, kumkum, honey, coconut and grains. Purnahuti closes the fire, followed by rakshabandhana, deeparadhana and prasadam distribution. All samagri is arranged at our Yagna Ashram.
Book online from any country on this page. Share the names, gotra and birth stars to be included in the sankalpa. Our team confirms the muhurat and sends you the live telecast link, so you can watch the homa as it is performed at our Yagna Ashram. Prasadam and an energised yantra are couriered to your address worldwide, free of charge.
