Uma Maheshwari Homa

Also spelled Uma Maheshwari Homam

उमा माहेश्वरी होम

Shiva and Parvati seated as one household — the fire in which devotees place their prayers for a partner, a wedding date, and peace between two people.

  • Performed for you alone — never a group ceremony
  • Muhurta fixed from your own birth chart, confirmed within 24–48 working hours
  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

The Uma Maheshwari Homa is offered to Shiva and Parvati worshipped together, not separately. In this form they are the first married pair of the tradition — the ideal of two natures held in one seat without either being diminished. That is why the uma maheshwari pooja has long been prescribed for anything to do with marriage: the search for a partner, a match that keeps slipping away, a wedding that never quite gets fixed, or a home where two people have stopped meeting each other halfway.

Fire is the witness in every Vedic marriage, and this homa returns to that same witness. Ghee, samagri and the couple's mantras go into the flame while your name, nakshatra and gotra are spoken in the sankalpa. Devotees turn to the uma maheshwari homam when horoscope obstacles, family friction or plain unexplained delay have worn them down, and they want the matter placed before Uma and Maheshwara rather than carried alone.

ॐ उमामहेश्वराभ्यां नमः Salutations to Uma and Maheshwara together — the Goddess and the Great Lord as one inseparable pair.

Why Devotees Book This

Among the uma maheshwari pooja benefits named in tradition, these are the prayers devotees most often bring to this fire.

For a suitable life partner

Offered by those seeking marriage, praying for a match of matching values, family and temperament.

When marriage keeps getting delayed

Traditionally prescribed where proposals stall, alliances break at the last step, or years pass without a date being fixed.

Harmony between husband and wife

Sought by married couples for patience, plain speech and the ending of long-running friction at home.

Ease in horoscope obstacles to marriage

Taken up where astrologers point to planetary hindrance in the seventh house or delay indicated in the chart.

Peace across the two families

The uma maheshwari puja is offered so that elders on both sides come to agreement and the alliance moves without discord.

Blessings on a new marriage

Booked before or soon after a wedding, asking Uma and Maheshwara to preside over the household being founded.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Uma Maheshwari Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Uma Maheshwari Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual — and even its timing is set for you personally.

Our astrologer marks the auspicious date and time to wear the yantra according to your birth details — sent to you in the email carrying your shipment's tracking number.

03

Face East or North

Perform the wearing process facing east or north for maximum benefit.

Show lamp and incense to the amulet before wearing it.

Who is invoked

Uma Maheshwari — the goddess of knowledge itself

Uma Maheshwari is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Uma Maheshwari Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

This question is about a community, not this ritual. The Maheshwari community is a Marwari trading community, counted among the Vaishya or Baniya groups, with origins in Rajasthan. Its name comes from Maheshwar, a name of Shiva. The Uma Maheshwari Homa on this page is a fire ritual to Shiva and Parvati and is open to devotees of every community, caste and country.
It is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Uma and Maheshwara — Parvati and Shiva worshipped as one inseparable pair. Because they are the archetypal married couple of the tradition, the homa is prescribed for matters of marriage: finding a partner, clearing delays in an alliance, and restoring harmony between husband and wife. Offerings are made into the consecrated fire while the deities' mantras are chanted and your sankalpa is declared.
The uma maheshwara pooja benefits described in tradition centre on marriage and the home: prayers for a suitable life partner, easing of obstacles that delay a wedding, patience and understanding between spouses, agreement between the two families, and the blessing of a newly founded household. The rite is an offering and a prayer, not a guarantee of any particular result.
Anyone praying about marriage may sponsor it — an unmarried man or woman seeking a partner, parents praying for a son's or daughter's alliance, a couple facing friction, or a family whose astrologer has pointed to marriage delay in the chart. You do not perform it yourself. Qualified priests perform it on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram in your name and nakshatra.
Mondays, Pradosham evenings, Shukla Paksha Tritiya and Panchami, and nakshatra days such as Uttara Phalguni and Rohini are the most favoured. Maha Shivaratri and Navaratri are observed with special elaboration. Once you book, our priests select the muhurat from your birth details and confirm the date and time with you.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachanam, then the sankalpa in which your name, gotra and nakshatra are spoken. Kalasha sthapana and the avahana of Uma Maheshwari follow. The agni kunda is kindled, and ghee, havis, samithu, navadhanya, flowers and dry fruits are offered through the deities' mantras. The rite closes with purna ahuti, deepa aradhana and prarthana. You watch the whole sequence on a live telecast, and prasadam with an energised yantra is couriered to you.
Book online from this page, from any country. Send the name, nakshatra and gotra of everyone the homa is for. Our priests fix the muhurat, perform the uma maheshwari homam at our Yagna Ashram in Coimbatore, and telecast it live to you wherever you are. Prasadam and the energised yantra are then couriered to your address worldwide, free of shipping cost.
