The Ritual and Its Weight

The Swati Nakshatra Homa is the fire rite offered for those born under Swati, the fifteenth nakshatra, whose symbol is a tender shoot swaying in open wind. Its presiding devata is Vayu, the breath that moves in every living thing; its planetary lord is Rahu; its field is the sign of Libra, the place of balance and exchange. Tradition holds that your birth star is the doorway through which the year's influences reach you. When that doorway is honoured with ghee, mantra and flame, the tradition says the native stands steadier in changing air.

At our Yagna Ashram, qualified priests kindle the fire in your name and your gothra, and offer to Vayu through the count of mantras the śāstra prescribes for Swati. You do not travel. The swati nakshatra homam is telecast to you live, wherever you are, and the prasadam and energised yantra reach you by courier. Devotees book this homa on their birth-star day, before a journey or a new venture, or in a year when Rahu's transit touches their chart — as an act of alignment, not of bargaining.

ॐ वायवे नमः Salutations to Vayu, the lord of wind and living breath, presiding deity of Swati nakshatra.

Why Devotees Book This

The tradition prescribes the Swati Nakshatra Homa for these purposes. What follows is what the rite is offered for, in the words of the śāstra — not a promise of outcome.

Alignment with your birth star

Offered so that the Swati native's own nakshatra is honoured at its source, and the year's influences are received in balance.

Protection in movement

Vayu is the deity of travel, air and passage. The homa is traditionally offered before journeys, relocations and new postings.

Steadiness under changing conditions

Swati's symbol is the shoot that bends and survives. The rite is offered for flexible strength rather than rigid resistance.

Prosperity through fair exchange

Swati falls in Libra, the sign of trade and agreement. Devotees offer this homa when seeking clean dealings and steady livelihood.

Softening of Rahu's influence

As Rahu rules Swati, the homa is prescribed during Rahu periods and transits, to invoke clarity where confusion gathers.

Clarity in speech and learning

Vayu carries sound. The rite is traditionally offered by students, singers, speakers and those whose work depends on the voice.

Sacred Timing

Our priests fix the muhurat from your birth details and the panchanga. These are the occasions most often chosen for the swati nakshatra homa.

Swati nakshatra day

The day the Moon transits Swati each month is the primary occasion. It recurs roughly every twenty-seven days, and is the natural day for your birth-star homa.

Your nakshatra birthday

The Swati day in the lunar month of your birth is held to be the strongest of the year, and is chosen by many for the annual observance.

Before travel or a new beginning

Vayu governs passage. The homa is offered ahead of a journey, a move abroad, a change of work or the start of a venture.

During Rahu dasha, bhukti or transit

When Rahu, the lord of Swati, becomes active in your chart, the rite is prescribed for the duration of that period.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Vayu Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Vayu Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual — and even its timing is set for you personally.

Our astrologer marks the auspicious date and time to wear the yantra according to your birth details — sent to you in the email carrying your shipment's tracking number.

Who is invoked

Vayu — the goddess of knowledge itself

Vayu is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Vayu Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

Swati is not counted among the group commonly listed as maha nakshatras, but it is a nakshatra of high standing in its own right. It is ruled by Vayu and by Rahu, and classified as a movable or chala nakshatra — excellent for travel, trade, vehicles and beginnings that require momentum. No nakshatra is unlucky. Each has its own temperament, and Swati's is independence, adaptability and balance.
It is the Vedic fire ritual offered for people born under Swati, the fifteenth nakshatra. Vayu, the presiding deity, is invoked with ghee, samagri and the mantras prescribed for this star. Its significance lies in alignment: the tradition treats your janma nakshatra as the channel through which planetary influence reaches you, and this homa honours that channel so the native meets the year's movement with steadiness.
The rite is traditionally offered for protection in travel and movement, resilience during changing circumstances, clarity when Rahu is active, fairness and steadiness in livelihood and partnership, and strength in speech and study. These are the purposes the śāstra assigns to the homa. Results are not promised, and no homa replaces medical or professional care.
Anyone whose Moon-based birth star is Swati — or that of a child, spouse or parent, sponsored on their behalf. It is also chosen by Libra natives, by those entering a Rahu dasha or bhukti, and by devotees preparing for a journey, migration or new venture. Qualified priests perform the fire ritual; you sponsor it and watch.
The monthly Swati nakshatra day is the core muhurat, and the Swati day of your birth month is the most auspicious in the year. Our priests read the panchanga alongside your birth details and set the exact hour, avoiding inauspicious yogas. If you have a journey or a venture date in mind, tell us and the muhurat is fixed ahead of it.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and sankalpa in your name, gothra and nakshatra. Punyahavachanam and kalasha sthapana follow. Agni is invoked in the kunda, and offerings are made to Vayu through the prescribed count of Swati mantras, with ghee, samith, navadhanya, honey, camphor and seasonal flowers. Purnahuti, rakshabandhana and deeparadhana close the rite. Prasadam and an energised yantra are then couriered to you, free, anywhere in the world.
Book online from any country. Send your name, gothra if you know it, birth star and birth details; our team confirms the muhurat and shares the live telecast link so you can watch the swati nakshatra homam from home. The homa is performed by our priests at AstroBhava's Yagna Ashram in Coimbatore on your behalf — you need not travel or attend in person.
