Also spelled Shoolini Homam
शूलिनी होमThe trident-bearing Mother stands at your threshold. Fire, mantra and ash raised on your behalf against every unseen harm.
The Soolini Homa is a protective fire rite addressed to Soolini Durga, the form of the Mother who carries the shoola — the trident. Tradition treats her as a guardian at the boundary: what tries to enter a home, a body or a mind without permission meets her weapon first. Priests kindle the fire, invoke her with her mantra, and offer ghee, herbs and specific dravyas into the flame while your name and nakshatra are pronounced in the sankalpa.
Devotees turn to shoolini homam when life feels obstructed in ways no calendar or ledger explains — sudden discord at home, work that unravels for no visible reason, the sense of being watched or drained, an infant who will not settle, the fear of drishti or abhichara. The tradition does not ask you to prove the cause. It prescribes fire, mantra and the Mother's presence, and it asks you to sit with a steady mind while the offerings are made. The soolini homa is performed for that steadying, and for the shield the ancients placed around a household.

ॐ ह्रीं शूलिनि दुर्गे रक्ष रक्ष स्वाहा O Durga who bears the trident, protect me, protect me — this offering is made to you.Shoolini homam benefits are described in the tradition as protective rather than acquisitive — a boundary drawn, not a boon demanded. Devotees book the soolini homa for these reasons.
Performed traditionally to dissolve the effects of the evil eye — the casual glance of envy that the elders warned about.
Prescribed when black magic, cast spells or deliberate ill-will are feared to be working against a person or family.
Sought for relief from psychic disturbance — restless sleep, unexplained dread, the feeling of being drained in your own home.
Households book this rite when a home or new premises feels heavy, and they wish the space consecrated before settling in.
Also invoked where opposition and ill-intent surround work or litigation, that you may stand without agitation.
Parents request the soolini homa for infants and young children, in the old custom of drawing a guardian circle around the small ones.
Every priest who performs your Soolini Homa is trained in a traditional Padashala and personally recruited by Brahmashree Shivaaya — Guru and Head of Astrological & Spiritual Solutions at AstroBhava. Your ritual is conducted at our own Yagna Ashram — never a rented venue — with temple rites performed across our seven temples in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The nine nights, and Durgashtami above all, are held to be the most potent window in the year for invoking Soolini Durga.
In several southern traditions the protective invocation is deliberately placed in this window, under the priest's judgement.
When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

Soolini Durga is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.
In this homa, her grace — Soolini Durga Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
