Also spelled Santhana Lakshmi Homam
सन्तान लक्ष्मी होमA fire offered to the Lakshmi who blesses the family line — for the child you pray for, and the years that follow.
The Santhana Lakshmi Homa is a fire ritual addressed to Santhana Lakshmi, the fourth of the eight forms of Sri Lakshmi. Where other forms grant grain, courage or victory, this one is invoked for santhana — offspring, and the continuity of a household through them. Couples waiting for a child, mothers in a delicate pregnancy, and parents praying for a son or daughter's wellbeing have turned to this rite for generations. It sits beside the santhana gopala homam in the progeny tradition, but the prayer here rises to the Mother rather than to the child-Krishna.
In the fire, ghee, milk, honey, banana and lotus are offered while the priests recite the Santhana Lakshmi mantra and the Sri Sukta. Each oblation carries the sankalpa — your names, your gotra, your nakshatra — into Agni, who is the messenger. What tradition prescribes here is shelter: for the womb, for the birth, for the growing child. The santana lakshmi homam is a prayer that a family does not end with itself. Where a santhana lakshmi pooja at home is not possible, priests perform the rite at our Yagna Ashram on your behalf and you watch the fire live.

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing.
