Pushya is the star of nourishment. This fire honours it, so the light you were born under stays steady over your days.

  • Performed for you alone — never a group ceremony
  • Muhurta fixed from your own birth chart, confirmed within 24–48 working hours
  • Free energised yantra, sealed in a silver amulet, shipped worldwide at no charge

The Ritual and Its Weight

The Pushya Nakshatra Homa is a birth-star rite. Pushya is the eighth nakshatra, the flower that feeds — its symbol is the cow's udder, its lord Brihaspati, guru of the devas. Vedic tradition holds that the star under which you drew your first breath keeps a quiet claim on your life. When that star's presiding deity is honoured in fire, the tradition says the connection is renewed and the native walks under a settled sky.

Devotees turn to the pushya nakshatra homam at the turn of a personal year, before a long undertaking, or when the days feel scattered and unfed. Priests kindle the fire at our Yagna Ashram in your name and gotra, offer to Brihaspati through the Pushya oblations, and place your sankalpa in the flame. You watch it live, wherever you are. Nothing is asked of you but your attention.

ॐ बृहस्पते अति यदर्यो अर्हाद् द्युमद्विभाति क्रतुमज्जनेषु । यद्दीदयच्छवस ऋतप्रजात तदस्मासु द्रविणं धेहि चित्रम् ॥ Brihaspati, born of truth, whose radiance shines beyond all rivalry and illumines the wisdom of people — place in us that bright and manifold wealth.

Why Devotees Book This

Those born under Pushya, and those whose transits touch it, offer this fire for these reasons.

Alignment with your birth star

The rite is offered in your name, gotra and nakshatra, honouring the star that presided over your birth.

The blessing of nourishment

Pushya is the nakshatra of feeding and increase. Devotees offer this homa seeking sustenance in home, work and health.

Protection on the road ahead

Tradition prescribes birth-star fires before journeys, relocations and long ventures, as a shield placed in advance.

Brihaspati's counsel

The guru of the devas is the lord of this star. Devotees invoke him for right judgement and sound guidance in decisions.

Steadiness in prosperity

Rather than sudden gain, Pushya is associated with slow, rooted growth. The homa is offered for that kind of increase.

A settled mind

Devotees describe the live darshan of their own birth-star fire as grounding — a fixed point in a restless season.

Sacred Timing

The fire is most often lit on these days. Our priests fix the muhurat against your birth details and tell you the date.

Pushya nakshatra day

The natural day for this homa is when the moon transits Pushya, which recurs each lunar month. The star's own hour is considered the strongest window.

Guru Pushya Yoga

When Pushya falls on a Thursday, Brihaspati's own day, the combination is held in high regard for beginnings, learning and lasting acquisitions.

Your birthday by nakshatra

Many devotees offer the homa on their janma nakshatra day each year, renewing the bond with the star at the turn of a personal cycle.

Before a major undertaking

A new house, a new venture, a child's education or a long relocation — tradition places the birth-star fire before the step, not after.

What you receive

The sealing of the yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Brihaspati Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

Who is invoked

Brihaspati — the goddess of knowledge itself

Brihaspati is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.

In this homa, her grace — Brihaspati Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

It is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Brihaspati, the presiding deity of Pushya, the eighth nakshatra. Pushya is the star of nourishment — its symbol is the cow's udder, its name means 'to nourish'. The homa honours the star under which you were born, renewing that link through mantra and oblation. Tradition regards the birth-star rite as one of the simplest and most personal acts of alignment available to a householder.
Devotees perform it seeking protection, nourishment, sound judgement and steady rather than sudden prosperity. Because Brihaspati is the guru of the devas, the pushya nakshatra homam is also offered for guidance in study, teaching and important decisions. The tradition prescribes the rite for these ends; it does not promise outcomes, and the fruit rests with the deity.
Anyone born under Pushya nakshatra, in any of its four padas. Parents commonly offer it for a child born under Pushya. It is also offered by those whose dasha or current transits touch Pushya, and by anyone advised toward it by their astrologer. The priests perform the rite on your behalf — you need only supply your name, gotra and birth star.
On the day the moon transits Pushya, which comes once each lunar month. Guru Pushya Yoga, when Pushya coincides with a Thursday, is especially esteemed. Many devotees choose their janma nakshatra day each year. Our priests calculate the muhurat from your birth details and confirm the date and hour with you before the fire is lit.
Priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and the sankalpa taken in your name, gotra and nakshatra. Agni is invoked in the kunda and consecrated. The Brihaspati and Pushya mantras are chanted with oblations of ghee, samidha of the nakshatra's tree, rice, sesame, navadhanya, honey and dry fruits. Purnahuti closes the fire, followed by aarti and the energising of your yantra. You watch the whole sequence live.
Book online from any country. Share your name, gotra if you know it, and birth details.
