Also spelled Punarvasu Nakshatra Homam
पुनर्वसु नक्षत्र होमPunarvasu is the star of return — of light restored after loss. This fire asks Aditi to renew what is yours.
The Punarvasu Nakshatra Homa is a fire rite performed for those born under Punarvasu, the seventh nakshatra, whose very name means 'good again' — the return of brightness, of abundance, of the settled mind. Vedic tradition holds that each birth star carries a presiding deity and a subtle current that shapes the year. When that current runs clear, life feels workable. When it is disturbed by transits, by a difficult dasha, or by long strain, the tradition prescribes offerings into consecrated fire to set it right.
In this homa the priests take your name, gotra and birth star as sankalpa, and offer ghee, samidha and herbs to Aditi, the boundless mother, through Agni. The rite is prescribed for birth-star alignment, for protection of the family, and for the steady restoration that Punarvasu signifies. It is performed at our Yagna Ashram on your behalf and telecast to you live, so you may sit before the fire from wherever you are and hear your own name spoken into it.
ॐ अदितिर्द्यौरदितिरन्तरिक्षमदितिर्माता स पिता स पुत्रः। विश्वे देवा अदितिः पञ्च जना अदितिर्जातमदितिर्जनित्वम्॥ Aditi is the sky, Aditi is the mid-air, Aditi is the mother, the father and the child; Aditi is all the gods and all peoples, Aditi is what has been born and what is yet to be born — may that boundless mother hold us.Devotees born under Punarvasu, or advised by an astrologer to strengthen this star, come to this fire for these reasons.

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.
