Also spelled Krotha Bhairava Homam
क्रोध भैरव होमThe fierce guardian answers in fire. Invoke Krotha Bhairava when rivals close in, when ill-will follows you, and ask for the strength to stand unshaken.
The Krotha Bhairava Homa is a fire rite addressed to the wrathful form of Bhairava — the guardian whose anger is not cruelty but protection. Tradition places this homa among the rites for Success Over Enemies: it is undertaken when opposition has hardened into something personal, when a rival's move is felt before it is seen, when the air around your work or your household has turned heavy with resentment. The fire is kindled, the fierce name is called, and the offerings go in with the intention of cutting what binds you.
Why it carries weight is simple. Bhairava is the one Shiva set to guard the threshold — the doorkeeper who lets nothing hostile pass. The krotha bhairava homam does not ask you to answer hostility with hostility. It asks the guardian to stand where you cannot stand, so that your own mind may stay clear. Devotees turn to it before a court date, before a difficult negotiation, during a family dispute, or when years of quiet obstruction have worn them down. What the tradition prescribes it for is shelter and steadiness, not revenge.
ॐ ह्रीं बटुकाय आपदुद्धारणाय कुरु कुरु बटुकाय ह्रीं ॐ Om, to Bhairava the swift protector who lifts devotees out of danger — act now, act now, and shield me.What the tradition prescribes the krotha bhairava homa for, in plain terms.
Bhairava is invoked as the doorkeeper — the rite asks for protection around your home, your work and your travels.
Offered when competition has turned adversarial, so you may meet opposition with a clear head rather than fear.
Traditionally undertaken to dissolve the weight of envy, curses spoken in anger, and hostility directed at you.
The fierce form is called upon for the nerve to speak, to hold a position, and to stop shrinking from conflict.
Sought when progress is blocked by unseen hands — delayed papers, withheld support, doors quietly closed.
Devotees describe the rite as a way of setting a burden down, so anger stops occupying the whole day.

Bhairava rites are held in the darker, quieter hours. These are the occasions the tradition favours for the krotha bhairava homam.
The eighth lunar day, especially Krishna Paksha Ashtami, is Bhairava's own tithi and the classic day for this homa.
The monthly Ashtami of the waning moon, observed across Bhairava shrines, is considered especially potent for protection rites.
The days of Mangala and Surya suit fierce and martial invocations sought for courage and defence.
Kala Bhairava Ashtami in Margashirsha, and the Rahu hour on an Ashtami, are traditionally chosen for urgent protection.
When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

Krotha Bhairava is one of the Tridevi and the mother of the Vedas — the presiding deity of knowledge, learning, memory, speech, music and every art. She is depicted in white upon a white lotus, holding the veena, a book, a rosary and a water pot, with the swan of discernment beside her.
In this homa, her grace — Krotha Bhairava Kataksham — is invoked through fire with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
