Also spelled Ketu Homam
केतु होमThe smoke-hued shadow graha, invoked in fire — for those walking through a Ketu period, and for a mind that will not settle.
Ketu is the tail of the celestial serpent — headless, silent, and cutting. Where Ketu sits in your chart, life tends to thin out. Things you held tightly slip away; interest fades where it once burned. The Ketu Homa is the Vedic fire rite offered to that shadow graha, performed to soften a sharply placed or afflicted Ketu and to draw out its gentler face: detachment that steadies rather than empties, insight that arrives quietly.
Devotees turn to the Ketu homam during a Ketu mahadasha or bhukti, when the chart shows Ketu conjunct or aspecting sensitive houses, or when the ancestral shadow of a Rahu Ketu combination is being addressed. At our Yagna Ashram, priests kindle the kunda in your name, chant the Ketu mantra with the prescribed count, and offer darbha, kusha and the traditional dravyas into the flame. You watch the fire live, wherever you are. The ash and prasadam reach you afterwards, couriered to your door.
ॐ पलाशपुष्पसङ्काशं तारकाग्रहमस्तकम् । रौद्रं रौद्रात्मकं घोरं तं केतुं प्रणमाम्यहम् ॥ I bow to Ketu, who shines like the flame-red palasha blossom, who rises above the stars and planets, fierce and formidable in form. The tradition prescribes the Ketu homam for these purposes. What follows is what the rite is offered for, in the words of the shastra — not a promise of result.
Offered when Ketu mahadasha, bhukti or transit runs through your chart and the days feel unmoored.
Where Ketu sits with the Moon, the Lagna lord or a sensitive house, the fire rite is prescribed to cool that placement.
Ketu governs the scattered, restless quality of attention. The homa is offered for clarity and settled focus.
Many devotees pair this with the Rahu Ketu homam when the axis itself is under pressure; Rahu Ketu homam benefits are traditionally sought as a pair.
Where efforts stall without explanation, the shastra points to the shadow grahas and prescribes homahuti to Ketu.
Ketu is the karaka of moksha and renunciation. The homa is offered to turn his force toward sadhana rather than loss.
Every priest who performs your Ketu Homa is trained in a traditional Padashala and personally recruited by Brahmashree Shivaaya — Guru and Head of Astrological & Spiritual Solutions at AstroBhava. Your ritual is conducted at our own Yagna Ashram — never a rented venue — with temple rites performed across our seven temples in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.
