Also spelled Dhanvantari Homam
धन्वन्तरि होमThe physician of the gods rises from the churned ocean with the vessel of amrita. This fire is lit for healing, strength and long life.
The Dhanvantari Homa is a fire offering made to Dhanvantari, the divine physician who emerged from the churning of the milk ocean holding the pot of amrita. When illness lingers, when strength does not return after treatment, when a family carries a long-running complaint from one generation to the next, the tradition turns to this fire. Ghee, medicinal herbs and grains are offered into the kunda while the Dhanvantari mantra is chanted, verse after verse, until the flame itself becomes the vessel of nectar.
This is not a substitute for medicine. The shastra places the Dhanvantari homam beside treatment, not instead of it — it is offered so that the healing hand steadies, the body accepts what is given to it, and the mind stops fighting its own recovery. At our Yagna Ashram, priests perform the homa in your name and gotra, and you watch the fire live wherever you are. The prasadam and the energised yantra reach your door afterwards.
ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय धन्वन्तरये अमृतकलशहस्ताय सर्वामयविनाशनाय त्रैलोक्यनाथाय श्रीमहाविष्णवे नमः Salutations to Lord Dhanvantari, who holds the vessel of nectar in his hand, destroyer of all afflictions, lord of the three worlds — an appeal to him to remove disease and grant health and long life. These are the intentions the tradition assigns to the Dhanvantari homam. Devotees bring them to the fire; the outcome rests with the deity.
Offered when someone is convalescing after fever, surgery or a long hospital stay, and the family wants divine support alongside treatment.
Traditionally invoked for complaints that recur season after season and never fully clear — the fire is offered for their easing.
For those who feel drained without clear cause, the homa is prescribed to restore ojas, appetite and everyday stamina.
Elders and newborns alike are named in the sankalpa, with prayers for ayush — a long, sound and unburdened span of life.
Illness wearies the spirit before the body. The Dhanvantari mantra is chanted for calm, patience and courage through treatment.
Doctors, vaidyas, therapists and caregivers offer this homa for clarity of judgement and a steady hand in their service.

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum; the daily rituals of the 48-day Anushthan are performed with full devotion but are not telecast.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.
